“IRONWOMEN” – the book

Finishing IRONMAN® Zürich was such a life changing experience. I felt compelled to share it with other women. With the permission of IRONMAN® Switzerland I sent out a 22-question survey to all the other female IRONMAN® Zürich finishers.

I received 40 responses.

The book is a compilation of my story and their stories. The first part documents my road to Zürich and then later to Challenge Roth. The second half contains all the wisdom from my tri-sisters.

What’s in the book?

100’s of new, unique tips and insights, not found in tri mags or other
books

I recently had to speak in public. It was sprung on me as a surprise, At first I panicked. Then I reminded myself, you are an IRONMAN triathlete. Whenever I'm scared, I picture the mass swim start and remind myself if I can do that, I can do anything. - Bianca, South Africa
Plan your finishing photo, you don't want to share your crossing-the-finishing-line moment with anyone else. Let him/her pass and then take all the glory as if you had won. - Louise, Spain
Go heavy partying and then run for two hours the next morning, this awful feeling comes close to how you feel during the run part of an IRONMAN®. - Mary, US
I gave myself 30 seconds to think about quitting, had a power cry and told myself I would finish. Looking back, better fuelling might have prevented the negative thoughts, and the need for a power cry! - Jess, UK
Don't worry how heavy your bike is, lose weight instead, it is cheaper. - Cory, Germany

I didn’t want this book to end. I have loved it and giggled out
loud often as I’ve read through the pages.
